PJSC "Keramet" implements European steel scrap specification
PJSC "Keramet", having experience on the European market and supporting the European aspirations of our country, is engaged in activities for the implementation of the European steel scrap specification on the Ukrainian market.
In particular, since 1 December 2014 the European steel scrap specification is used by PJSC "Keramet" for work with scrap metal suppliers and since 1 March 2015 for work with a major consumer - PJSC "DMKD".
European specification is a classification of scrap metal grades, which was developed jointly by the European Ferrous Recovery & Recycling Federation (EFR) and the European Steel Association (EUROFER). European specification is widely used for a long time in the EU, and is meant for unification of existing scrap metal grades on the market and suggests a simplified classification of scrap metal grades in comparison with DSTU 4121-2002 (Ukrainian scrap metal standard).
The transition to the European steel scrap specification will reduce the number of existing scrap metal grades by combining identical and eliminating unused. In addition, the transition to the identification of the goods in accordance with the European steel scrap specification will allow developing successfully the scrap metal business under conditions of the European market.
